Doctor Olivier Caron
Dr Olivier Caron is a medical geneticist specialising in hereditary cancer predisposition.
After earning his medical degree, he began his career as a hospital practitioner at the University Hospital of Strasbourg, where he divided his time between the genetics laboratory—serving as lead for cancer predisposition gene analysis and quality assurance—and the oncogenetics clinic within the Department of Medical Oncology.
He joined Gustave Roussy in 2008, where he has since led the genetic consultations within the Department of Medical Oncology. He has also served as Head of the Genetics Committee since 2009. His clinical work focuses on cancer genetics consultations, with over 1,000 consultations conducted annually.
In 2021, he co-founded Interception, Gustave Roussy’s cancer prevention programme, expanding his focus into preventative care.
Dr Caron teaches in various postgraduate and doctoral-level programmes, notably at Université Paris-Saclay. From 2017 to 2023, he was a member of the national board of the Genetics and Cancer Group (Unicancer GGC).
