Professor Michel Ducreux
Professor Michel Ducreux is the Head of the Digestive Cancer Committee at Gustave Roussy. He also served as the institute’s Medical Director from 2011 to 2019.
Michel Ducreux has been a Professor of Oncology since 2005. He is the author of more than 570 articles published in indexed journals. His research focuses on the management of metastatic colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, biliary tract cancers, hepatocellular carcinoma, and the treatment of neuroendocrine tumours.
Professor Ducreux is involved in numerous clinical trials, particularly exploring new therapeutic approaches for various digestive cancers.
Regularly invited to the most prominent international scientific congresses, Michel Ducreux has led the Digestive Group of the EORTC (European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer), and is a member of ESMO (European Society for Medical Oncology) and its European Guidelines Editorial Committee, ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology), as well as the SNFGE (Société Nationale Française de Gastro-entérologie).
He served as a member of the Ethical and Cancer Committee for 8 years, from its inception. He is also a co-editor of the European Journal of Cancer, co-chair of the annual ESMO Congress on Digestive Cancers (EMO-GI), which takes place in Barcelona each year, and was a member of the National Council of Universities from 2018 to 2024.
Additionally, as a sports physician, Professor Ducreux advocates for all initiatives promoting physical activity for cancer patients or cancer survivors.
