Doctor Pierre Descols

Dr Pierre Descols is a specialist practitioner at the Cancer Centres within the Cervico-Facial Oncology Department at Gustave Roussy. A specialist in oral medicine, he joined the Oral and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics Unit in 2020 and has been its director since 2023. A former hospital practitioner, he has worked at the Mayotte Hospital Centre, the Jacques Monod Hospital in Le Havre, as well as at the military teaching hospitals of Val de Grâce (Paris) and Percy (Clamart), where he began specialising in the care of cancer patients.

Holder of qualifications in implantology, oral pathology, and oral oncology, his practice is dedicated to complex oral rehabilitations following cancer treatments, as well as the prevention and treatment of oral side effects from these treatments.

Dr Descols is a member of the French Society for Maxillofacial Rehabilitation (SFRMF), the French Society of Adapted Oral Medicine (SFMOA), the French-speaking Association for Supportive Cancer Care (AFSOS), and the Oral Health Specific Care Society (SOSS). He participates in several training courses with the School of Cancer and co-directs the Postgraduate Diploma in Oral Oncology.
